Funds of Knowledge at San Basilio de Palenque : A path for preserving its identity

This case study examines how teachers preserve and foster the funds of knowledge students bring to school in Palenque community. Data were collected using Matrix instrument, open-ended questions, interviews, participant observation. An analysis data was done a domain process, category cultural meanings. The findings included creation three new categories: ethnobotany, Kuagros, Kulum. identified teachers' educational practices that fit culturally relevant/responsive profile. These involve rethinking curriculum, instruction, what are more ethnographic approach education.
